I really hate to rub it in

Especially since everybody’s written about it already, in a far better way than I could dream of writing.

And the Ad Guy has far better coverage and linkage about it.

The only way I could put a postscript to the Boston Celtics’ shredding (yes, I did the Inquirer headline) of the Los Angeles Lakers is to do it in a way that is worth a thousand quality words.

And for me, the lasting image of the NBA Finals is not the Celtics raising their 17th title at home.

It is Game 4 of the series, when Kobe Bryant tried to stop the bleeding, the inevitable spiral from what seemed like an insurmountable lead, and ran into this instead:

Updating number of championships Kobe has won without Shaq: ZERO STILL.

Nuff said.

  1. Hahaha! Ikaw pala naglagay ng headline, hindi ko kaagad naisip yun ah pero natawa ako nung nabasa ko, I thought, wow, nice choice of words, hehehe.

First time I watched the NBA Finals so intently since Jordan’s second retirement. Now I know why so many people just hate Kobe. Ang angas niya pala talaga sa court. There’s this air of “shit kayo lahat, ako lang magaling dito.”

    Buti ka nga sa kanya.

  2. Hehehe. Yeah. Lalo tuloy nagkameaning yung poster nung isang Boston fan: Kobe can’t do Jack without Shaq.

If Kobe really wants to be the Air Apparent, a change in outlook is in order. Ang problema, he’s a talented scorer tapos pag sinabihan ni mamasa naman sha, nagtatampo, di na tumitira. Greatness ba yun? Eh si MJ nakaka five or six assists even while scoring 35 to 40 points.
